Little Pee Dee River: This blackwater river encompasses mature bottomland hardwood forest, longleaf pine sandhills, mature floodplain forest and oxbow lakes. The trail flows from the North Carolina border (Marlboro Co.) to join with the Great Pee Dee River in Marion County. The Lumber River merges into the Little Pee Dee near Mullins. The Little Pee Dee from the Lumber River to the Great Pee Dee River has been designated a South Carolina Scenic River by the S.C. Dept. of Natural Resources.
