Paddling at the Edge of a Maritime Forest that Surrounds the Saltwater Marsh Creeks of Murrells Inlet and Huntington Beach State Park

Huntington Beach Moonlight Kayak Tour
5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Moonlight guided kayak tour of the salt marsh creeks of Murrells Inlet. Meet at Morse Park on Hwy. 17 Business in Murrells Inlet, next to Hot Fish club. Call our store at (843) 546-4840 to make required advance reservation.

At the landing, we will launch our kayaks following a brief safety talk and paddling instruction. Paddle through spartina cordgrass marshes and creeks past mysterious Drunken Jack Island, reputed to hold the treasures of the pirate Black Beard, to the sandy dunes of Huntington Beach State Park. There we will go ashore to walk the jetty at the entrance to Murrells Inlet. As the sun sets in the west, the moon will rise from the Atlantic Ocean in the east. Wading shore birds, pelicans, and oyster catchers will begin roosting for the night. We will relaunch our kayaks to paddle in the moonlight and circle back to our starting point.
