Our scheduled guided kayak tours ...
are based on the seasonality of our business, availability of guides, and tide times. It is subject to change at our discretion if local weather or river conditions warrant. Full day tours, other locations, dates, and times can be arranged by special request. We will try to accommodate your needs, especially during slower times of the year and for groups!
In the past we provided transportation ...
for tours meeting at our store. Unfortunately, due to a few outrageous lawsuits elsewhere in the country, insurance companies no longer provide coverage for carrying passengers in any 12 or 15 passenger vans. For any tour which meets at our store, be sure that you have enough fuel in your vehicle for about a 40 mile roundtrip. Lobby for tort reform!
Advance reservations ...
are required for guided kayak tours. (We need to plan for equipment and personnel utilization.) During the summer, tours often fill up. So as soon as you are ready to make a commitment, please call the Outfitter Store 9:00am-5:30pm Monday through Saturday at (843) 546-4840 (closed Sunday). We need to ask you some specific questions and collect information. Calling will go much faster than swapping emails back and forth over several days. A VISA or MC card # is required to hold your reservation, otherwise prepayment by cash or check is accepted. Then on the day of the tour you can present your MC or VISA card for processing, or pay with cash or check.
Your cancellation ...
must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged (we plan for the number of guides and boats needed based on advance reservations and may turn away people if the tour fills up). Please do not sign up members of your party if you do not think that they will attend. We may cancel tours at our discretion with no charge to you in the event of bad weather or other circumstances.
